Natural senses and experiences can cause such a hindrance to faith. There's a couple of specific things in my life right now that I'm stretching my faith out there for. What I've found is that it's my own senses and my own experiences that cause me to doubt.
We've discussed before about what scale do I use to judge who I think God is. Do I go off of my own natural senses or do I use the Word of God?
God has not changed and will not change. He is who He is. Who He was in the Bible, He still is today. What He promised then is still in effect today. God is who He says He is.
I identified a few things today that are a hindrance to my faith. I'm asking God to show me more. I have to begin casting aside those hindrances, I have to (through grace) rewrite my ways of thinking to match up with the Word (2 Cor. 2:5)... it's time to step up. I've studied faith for months now and here I am having to truly stand in faith. Either I believe the Word or I don't.
I encourage you to ask God to show you hindrances to your faith. Cry out "Lord help my unbelief"... God wants His people to believe Him, to trust Him, to live in the blessing and promises of the Word. Without faith it is impossible to please Him.
