I've heard people say many times you just need "faith to keep going". As I was sitting with the Lord the other day I felt the Holy Spirit say to me "you need faith to keep GROWING". A parent the other day told me "I think _____ is growing, she's been having some pain in her shins and knees".
Have you ever noticed that growing often hurts?
When I look out at our society, we're surrounded by a media and social tone that makes us think it's okay to avoid pain at all cost, do what feels good, get what you want, say what you think, be you... etc.
The problem is the world doesn't need a Jessika who acts like Jessika. Jessika acting like Jessika won't lead the lost to the Lord, see the broken set free, share the Gospel, love unconditionally... What the world needs is a Jessika who acts like Jesus. It needs a you who acts like Jesus.
Becoming more like Jesus will contradict your flesh. To grow in the things of God we will have to do things that we don't "feel" like doing, we'll walk through some things that are hard, you'll have to say no to some things that you want to do and yes to some things you don't want to do.
You need faith to keep growing. In times of growth you may feel weary, attacked, the enemy will mess with your mind and try to condemn you, etc. We must stay in faith in growing periods, remembering who God is and who you are in Him.
