Well due to hurricane Isaac school is cancelled tomorrow and I'm trying to stay up long enough to see some of the storm come in! I am truly blown away by the amount of phone calls, text messages, and emails I received today from friends and family checking on me as the storm approached. As I said on facebook and twitter I'm sorry that I was unable to respond to everyone as obviously I still had to work today!! Even if I wasn't able to respond I want yal' to know how much it truly touched my heart. It is always encouraging to know that you're thought about, cared for, and loved.
Have I mentioned that I have the best job on the planet? Today while I was at WORK, STUDYING THE WORD (yea that's awesome), I came across this scripture that seemed so fitting with the approaching storm.
He encircled him, He cared for him, He guarded him as the pupil of His eye (Deut. 32:10)
I thought about how I guard my eyes. If you are one of those "lucky" people that i've allowed to even come remotely close to my face you've probably at one point or another seen me scream, duck, flail my arms, or act like a complete psycho in self defense of my eyes. I absolutely DETEST someone putting their hands near my face and especially near my eyes.
Later on at WORK, while I was PRAYING (yea still really awesome), I was praying about Isaac and the Holy Spirit reminded me of the scripture I'd read earlier. God protects His people and guards them as the pupil of His eye.
As I stay up tonight awaiting the storm I am praying for those in the areas more affected my Isaac. I am praying for God's supernatural protection and I'm reminded of how loving and merciful my God is.
Whether you're facing the literal storm or another storm in your life. Remember God will guard you as the pupil of His eye.
Be Blessed, J. Tate
