Well, it has been a while since my last blog. I have thoroughly enjoyed the last 10 days as I took a team to Mexico on a mission trip and had an amazing few days at home with friends and family. I really wanted to set aside that week to spend quality time with those in my life that I don't get to see on a regular basis. So for the most part I didn't spend much time on any social media and even tried to keep my cell phone use down to a minimum. It was a wonderful decision and I'm feeling rejuvenated, rested, and ready to see what God has in store as we finish up this year. Obviously my team and I are back safely from Mexico. We had an amazing time and really saw God move. To be honest I can't wait for when I get to go back. Before we even left, I was already trying to work another mission trip into our spring schedule.
I want to share with you about our first night before I give updates on some other things. We attended a service for a young adults conference. As we came into the place I was amazed at how many people were there and how they all jumped right into praise and worship. Now obviously most of the songs sung I didn't have a clue what they were saying because it was all in Spanish, so we Americans were all just kind of singing and worshipping on our own. Soon the speaker came up and what happened over the next few hours was something that I will never forget.
He came up and he said the name of your conference is "we desire your Spirit" and to be honest that makes me sad, because it means you don't have Him, so instead of me preaching I want all of you to just begin to ask for Him. So we did. Around 200 young adults begin to see just speak to God and ask for Him. It was powerful and amazing as the next 3 hours were just spent in His presence. God really touched me and spoke to my heart during that time and I was so thankful to be apart of that.
We spent the next couple of days feeding needy families, having an outreach in a lower income neighborhood, leading a service in a local church, and just loving spending time with people. I'm very proud of how our youth did on this trip and just thoroughly enjoy watching them grow and mature in their hunger and love for God.
I'm excited about what God is doing not only in my life, but in the global church. I'm excited about the visions, ideas, dreams, that He is stirring amongst us. I love having the freedom to cast vision and work with the Holy Spirit to see it through to completion. There's so much potential right now in America for the harvest to be brought in. I'm frequently reminded of the words of Jesus, the harvest is ready, the laborers are few. I'm still asking on a daily basis, "God what is my part for today?". Begin to seek Him for your role to play each day! There's a lost world and reality is they need a messenger to not only bring the gospel of Jesus, but to live it in front of them.
Good things are on the way. He is faithful. Be Blessed, J. Tate
