The gospel is such a mind boggling, beautiful, redeeming, liberating, Truth. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
Do you know what is the most strange thing to me about the gospel? I deserve to die a sinner's death. I deserve hell. The wage of sin is DEATH.
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. (1 Timothy 1:15)
And yet, before I ever did one good thing God decided He wanted to save me.
Not out of works in righteousness which we did, but according to His mercy His saved us, through the washing of regeneration and the renewing of the Holy Spirit. (Titus 3:5)
The gospel isn't some work hard to earn much Gospel, but in reality it's pretty simple.
That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)
And I still can't seem to grasp this type of love.
But God commends His own love to us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
He loved me so much that while I was still in my sin, He sent His only Son, the sinless One, to die.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever shall believe in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16)
I think about John as he said "OH WHAT MANNER OF LOVE IS THIS, THAT THE FATHER HAS BESTOWED ON US, THAT WE SHALL BE CALLED SONS OF GOD" (1 John 3:1)
But these have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing, you may have life through His name. (John 20:31)
It doesn't matter how long I've been saved, or how many church services I've been in, the Power of the Gospel in my life has not changed. The Truth of the Gospel still brings me to my knees. Jesus Christ, Son of God, died to save a sinning world. Spotless Lamb shed healing blood that forever changed my destiny. Now through Him I have access to the Father and am called a CHILD OF GOD. Now through Him I can experience fullness of Joy, Love, Peace.
Jesus Christ sent to the world because of the love of a Father, for me.
Be Blessed, J. Tate
