Relentless Pursuit

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=read-WMTW_Q&w=560&h=315] "It's a relentless pursuit, I will not stop chasing after you, it's a relentless pursuit, a passionate pursuit, i will not stop chasing after you, the love of my life" ~Kim Walker "I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus" ~Apostle Paul "One thing I have desired of the Lord and that will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in His temple" -King David "If Your presence doesn't go with us, don't take us from here" -Moses "Abide in me and I in you" -Jesus

I could go on and on with scriptures of people in the Word who sought after, chased after, pursued, and wanted to know the heart of the Father, the heart of Jesus.

RELENT: To soften in feeling or determination; to become mild;  to slacken; to abandon; to relinquish.

I've listened to "Relentless Pursuit" by Kim walker over and over and over again the last few weeks. A relent-less pursuit would be one that doesn't soften, doesn't become mild, one that is not abandoned or relinquished. A pursuing of God Himself that doesn't soften.

The Word says in 1 John 4:19 that we love because He first loved us. The understanding of His never ending, unchanging, relentless love, for us is what causes relentless pursuit of Him. We need faith filled acceptance and belief in the love of God for us because it's knowing that constant love for us that creates response. I love because He first loved me and because He loves me my heart is overwhelmed and undone with love for Him. This love causes me to pursue after Him and the more of Him I see, the more I learn, the more I know, the more I feel, the more I chase after Him.

"I can't take my eyes off of You, I can't take my mind off of You, I'm hopelessly crazy in love with You"

Love will respond to love. The hurting world needs love. The confused bride needs love. It doesn't need muster up, bite your tongue, and show fake love through rigid kindness (this is a counterfeit, perhaps I will talk about that tomorrow), it needs love. The very love of God Himself, that sends a perfect Son to die for the world. Real, Genuine, 100% pure, unchanging... love.

What causes our pursuit to be relenting? What causes us to soften, to stop chasing, to relinquish, to draw back? The enemy is constantly trying to cause you to relent in your pursuit. How can he distract you, cause you to draw back, have you look at other things?  I'm asking our Holy Spirit today to show me when/how I relent.

Be Blessed, J. Tate
