Christless Christianity?

"I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through me" John 14:6

"Far be it from me to boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world" Gal. 6:14

I've grown up in a generation and society that would never celebrate Thanksgiving without turkeys, Christmas without Santa Claus, or Easter without the Easter bunny, but for some reason it is very acceptable to celebrate Thanksgiving without being thankful, Christmas without the birth of Christ, and Easter without His resurrection.

Even worse I see Christians who believe in Christianity without Christ. Church services where the name of Jesus is rarely if ever mentioned and the Truth of the Word of God is best left to small groups or hushed whispers.

Through the fear of man the devil has devised a tricky little game plan. If we can't keep Americans from going to church perhaps we can just kick Jesus out. Let's push sensitivity to such a degree where they're so afraid that people will be shut off to the gospel of Jesus Christ that maybe they'll just have Christianity and church without The Christ.

At 15 years old the Creator of the Universe spoke to me and became more real than anything around me. Jesus Christ became the Lord of my life and He has saved me, healed me, delivered me, changed me. When friends walked out He stuck around. When things seemed impossible He proved He was bigger. He broke chains of addictions, mind sets, loneliness, rebellion, and all of the other issues the enemy or my own flesh had sent my way.

He showed me that He was real and "Greater was HE that was in ME, than He that was in the world". I realized that not only did He die for my sins, but the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:2) and that God loved me and the world so much that He sent Jesus to die (John 3:16) that I may have abundant life (John 10:10). Once Jesus died for me He sent a Helper in the Holy Spirit (John 14:16) and He would come and dwell in me and I in Him (John 14:20)

This gospel changed my life and I fell in love with Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Way, Truth, and Life. The only way to heaven.

So while many people out there may be concerned about offending the masses by speaking the Truth that there is only ONE WAY TO HEAVEN they have not realized something very important. A Christless Christianity is power-less to save, good for nothing, waste of your time, and love will never compromise truth for comfort. We are called to love people and my love for Him and for people is what causes me to desire deeply to share the TRUTH with them, not a watered down gospel with no power. The moment that Christianity and church become Christ-less is the moment we are simply serving religion.

They can have their religion, but I'm going to stick with Jesus.

Jesus is the One who saves. Jesus is the One who heals. Jesus is the One who delivers. Not religion and not even church. The church is effective when we grasp "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but He lives in me" and when we allow Him to live through us then we are able to be productive in doing the work of the Kingdom WITH HIM.

Let's go to the nations, to America, to your state, to your city, to your home, with the Truth of the gospel that Jesus Christ a sinless savior died and without making Him Lord and accepting His blood sacrifice to make you clean it is impossible to go to heaven. He is the ONLY Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Be Blessed, J. Tate
