1 Peter 1:5 "who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time" There's many times in life that we just get weary. There's trials and tribulations of life, there's work, relationships, battles and struggles, thought patterns, and just a decaying physical body that all have the potential to attribute to weariness.

There's so many great scriptures to quote and trust in while feeling weary, Gal. 6:9 "do not grow weary in doing good", Matthew 11:28 "come to me all who are weary and heavy laden...", John 16:33 "in the world you will have tribulation but take heart...", just to name a few popular ones off the top of my head.

However, this afternoon I was reading 1 Peter when verse five really stuck out to me. "who are kept by the power of God through faith". I thought, "what does it really mean to be kept?". Upon a little research I found that it actually means to be guarded, to be protected by military guard from hostile invasion, guarding in order to preserve.

Are you feeling a little weary? Tired? Overwhelmed? Ready for a break?

I want to remind you that through faith in God, you are guarded by His power. It's not by your might, it's not by your power, it's not in your strength... you are guarded by His power.

For me, that allows me to take a deep breath and rest in Him.

1 Peter 5:7 says, "casting all your care upon Him for He cares for you"

Verse 6  says to "humble yourself under the mighty hand of God"

Perhaps your heavy, perhaps overwhelmed, confused, dejected, stressed, weary, and burdened, we can come to Him humbly admitting we can't do it all, we can't figure it all out, we don't have all the answers, come to Him and cast ALL of the care onto Him, because He cares for us.

Rest and relax that as we come to Him humbly and in faith that He is guarding us. We are a guarded people, we are a protected people, take a deep breath and let Daddy take charge.
