1 Corinthians 1:9 "God is faithful..." Faithful; 1. strict or thorough in the performance of a duty 2. true to one's word, promises, vows 3. steady in allegiance or affection; loyal, constant 4. reliable, trusted, believed

"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my life and my portion forever"  (Ps. 73:26)

God is faithful. God is faithful. God is faithful.

Why is this so important?

Faithful means that what God said He would do, He'll do. Many times people in our lives may fail, our trust becomes compromised, and therefore we assume God is the same. BUT TAKE HEART! He is not mere man and He is faithful to HIS WORD! So as we declare and lean on His Word we are "putting Him in remembrance of His Word" (Isaiah 43:26) and He will be faithful to it.

Faithful means He can be depended on. As Ps 73:26 says, we may fail, others may fail, but God will be your strength and your portion FOREVER. The enemy may throw attacks your way, but God will not leave you alone in trial. Run to the One who has the Answer. He is always near, He never leaves.

I really like the amplified's interpretation of this verse: "God is faithful (reliable, trustworthy, and therefore ever true to His promise, and He can be depended on)"

When you're walking on the clouds or traveling through the valley of the shadow of death, remember that you have a reason to rejoice, God is faithful. He was faithful. He is faithful. He will be faithful.

God is faithful.
