I've Made Up My Mind

"Just as I moved past them I encountered Him, I found the One I adore! I caught Him and fastened myself to Him, refusing to be feeble in my heart again. Now I'll bring Him back to the temple within where I was given new birth into my innermost parts, The place of my conceiving" (SOS 3:4 TPT)

Today as I was driving in my car listening to the Song of Solomon Passion Translation on cd the scriptures began igniting in my heart like never before. I've read them over and over, but to hear them... wow. As they come through your ears it's like a firework going off in my inner man.
Side Note: If you've never read The Passion Translation you ought to get it. This man's interpretation of Song of Solomon, the Psalms, and now Proverbs has made these scriptures come ALIVE to many. I could tell you testimony after testimony from people I've shared these books with.

I had just gotten done talking to a good friend who was just pouring out the love and encouragement when I climbed in the car with Song of Solomon. I'm so thankful for community that does everything possible to love well and bring it all back to Jesus. As we discussed life and were honest about our hearts, she kept reminding me that there's no place in life that God isn't good, there's no time that He isn't 100% loving, there's nothing we could ever do that He wouldn't forgive, there's no situation too hard for Him.

This morning I had received information that really attempted to put me in a pretty down mood for the day, but then I remembered her words "There's no place in life that God isn't good." I climbed into my car and just said, "God you are always so so good" and then this scripture was read:

"I've made up my mind. Until the darkness disappears and the dawn has fully come,
In spite of shadows and fears- I will go to the mountain top with You.
I will climb with You, the mountain of suffering love and the hill of burning incense.
Yes I will be your bride." (SOS 4:6 TPT)

Sometimes we just have to make up our mind. Sometimes we just need to come to that place of understanding that despite circumstances "God is always always always good." The joy comes when we make up our mind that we'll go to the mountain top with Him because He is good and He is worth it. His joy will be our strength to overcome all obstacles thrown our way.

We have a good Dad, a really really good Dad, and we need to make up our minds that we will go to the mountain top with Him. We need to make up our minds that we will choose joy! We need to make up our minds that we believe the Word over all things. We need to make up our minds to be love to those around us!
As my spiritual mom always says, "Some things are not optional." We have to make up our minds to make these things not optional.

I'm thankful for a loving and merciful Father. I'm thankful for friends who remind you of truth and tell Scottish jokes. I'm thankful for the Word of God that brings LIFE!
Be Blessed,
J. Tate
