"Conviction hit me hard this morning Mommy" This is the text I woke up to this morning from one of my beautiful, amazing, Jesus loving, spiritual daughters. As she began to tell me about a scripture that God used to prune her, I just smiled real big loving that she hears His voice and listens to His correction.
This is our awesome Father. He disciplines and corrects in the most intense love, never desiring to leave us in the mess He found us in, but rather daily working in us to be more like Jesus.
I love the lyrics in the song, "Beautiful Things", by Gungor.
Hope is springing up from this old ground
Out of chaos life is being found in You
You make beautiful things You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us
God makes beautiful things out of us. God is good at taking messes and making beauty. He's good at taking broken things and making them whole. He's good at taking sinners and making them righteous. He's just good.
It is not possible to accrue too much baggage for Him to handle. There's no way to sin so much that He can't come in and make you beautiful. You can't be hurt so bad that He can't heal. You haven't messed anything up so badly that He can't fix you. We just have to be willing to give ourselves to Him to fix. We can't do enough to fix ourselves, but when we surrender we can watch Him lead and guide us to wholeness.
"I give it all to You God, trusting that you'll make something beautiful out of me" When we trust Him with our lives, He'll always make something beautiful out of us. He will not let us stay the way we came to Him. He'll guide us, He'll teach us, He'll correct us, He'll mold us, He'll give us identity, He'll give us affirmation, He'll give us dreams, He'll give us purpose, He'll give us community, He'll give us hope, "Life and life in the full"
So if you feel like a ruffled up dirty mess, don't fret, God makes beautiful things out of us.
Be Blessed, J. Tate
