Take a moment to remember who God is and who I am.There You go lifting my load again. No longer am I held by the yoke of this world, come upon me the yoke of Jesus. His yoke is easy and His burden is so light. (Take A Moment by Will Reagan)
I was in the Texas hill country sitting out under the stars. I was reminded of Louie Giglio's videos on the universe and I sat in awe of how big God is. Stars upon stars, each one known by their Creator. I couldn't help, but take a moment and remember who God is... and who I am.
God of the universe. Creator of the heavens and earth. Holy One. Savior. My Father. My Friend. The Lover of my soul. Big enough to hold the whole universe and yet intimate enough to come and wrap His arms around little me.
And who I am. His child.
I am His. His Daughter. Not a beggar, a Child. Taken care of. Looked after. Held. Disciplined. Instructed. Mercy shown. Grace extended. Love never ending.
Sometimes in life we need to reduce our thoughts down to these simple truths. Who God is and who I am. Everything else can tend to be complicated. Throw in people's opinions, decisions, situations, strife, and just the everyday going of life, it doesn't take much to overwhelm us when we begin to think in our own minds.
But here in that simple place of how big God is and how He cares for His children, we're able to let Him take our load. Here we can take off the yoke of this world and put on the yoke of Jesus. His yoke is easy. Here we can allow God to fight the battle. Here we can find rest as we trust Him. Here is peace. Here is joy. Here is refreshment.
So Take a moment...
"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am humble and gentle in heart, you will find rest for your souls. My yoke is easy and My burden is light" (Matthew 11:28-30)
