Where are the Accusers Now?

Accuse- To charge with the fault, offense or crimeHave you ever been accused of something? Perhaps it was something you did, maybe it was something you hadn't done. Who accused you? Was it someone you know really well, someone who didn't know you at all, someone who was involved in the issue, or perhaps someone who just decided it was their business. Accusation is not uncommon at all. Due to social media we often feel we have the right to accuse and comment on issues that have absolutely nothing to do with us and more often than not, we actually have absolutely NO PERSONAL insight into the situation.

I just finished up studying and writing about what it means to "judge". The whole topic was explaining that we can not be a generation that refuses to judge. You can read about that HERE. Almost immediately afterwards God was teaching me about how to judge, He began speaking to me about accusation. As He does often, He speaks to me about both sides of issues that have caused controversy and issues for the church.

"Put on the full suit of armor that God wears when He goes into battle, so that you will be protected as you fight against the evil strategies of the accuser!" (Ephesians 6:11 TPT) In Revelations Satan is referred to as the "accuser of the brethren".

When I read these verses it causes me to think. If satan is the accuser of the brethren, then when I accuse someone, I'm partnering with the accuser. Did you know God no longer accuses you (if you are a born again believer in Jesus)? Jesus came to be the expression of the Father's heart. He came into this world and displayed what God is like. I think about the woman who was caught in the act of adultery. She was found right in the midst of her sin. She was guilty. She had no defense. By the law's standards she should be sentenced to death. As she's brought to Jesus, His response, is remarkable and noteworthy. "You who is without sin, cast the first stone" (John 8:7) Do you realized He turned the subject off of her sin and on to Himself. Who else has ever been without sin? ONLY HIM. Jesus gave us a model for how to deal with Accusers... Point them right back to Him.

"And through the divine authority of his cross, he cancelled out EVERY legal violation we had on OUR RECORD and the old arrest warrant that stood to indict us. He erased it all- our sins, our stained soul, and our shameful failure to keep his laws- he deleted it all and they cannot be retrieved! Everything we once were in Adam has been placed onto his cross and nailed permanently there as a public display of cancellation. Then Jesus made a public spectacle of all he powers and principalities of darkness, stripping away from them every weapon and all their spiritual authority and POWER TO ACCUSE US" (Col. 2:14-15 TPT)

Jesus cancelled EVERY. SINGLE. DEBT. The finished work of the cross strips hell of its power to accuse you. When the lies of the enemy come to condemn you, simply open your mouth and direct him to Jesus.

In life your number one accuser is going to be the principalities of hell, but that doesn't mean they won't operate through people. There will be times that people will throw your faults in  your face, they'll remind you of your mistakes, and they'll be constantly trying to make you feel guilty for something you did, didn't do, said or didn't say. This battle that you are in is not against the person, it's against the powers of darkness. It doesn't matter who or what accuses you, remembering who you are in Christ will bring you peace. Jesus will stand strong as your advocate. It doesn't mean there won't be times we need to be confronted for our actions, or held accountable, but the Word says we "gently" correct others. When my mentors and friends are hurt by my actions or see something that needs to change, they come to me in humility, gentleness, and love where I never feel accused, I never feel condemned, I feel really really LOVED.

Jesus stripped away all accusation against you. YOU ARE FORGIVEN! Walk in the wisdom and revelation of what this means for you!!! Be Blessed, J. Tate
